Judge a campaign by who stays
A campaign that brings 200 people who leave within a week did less for your community than one that brought 40 who are still talking a month later. The join count is where a campaign's story starts, and retention is where you find out how it went.
What to look at
- Still there after 30 days. Referr's retention by source judges each join a month after it happened, so every source gets the same fair chance.
- Left within a day. A high share here usually means the post promised something the server didn't show, or reached the wrong audience.
- Finished onboarding. People who accept the rules and reach your goal role have decided to take part.
- Talked in their first week. With member activity on, you see which campaigns bring people who join in.
Comparing sources fairly
Give a source time: a post from last week can't show a month of retention yet. Watch small numbers: three people who all stayed is a promising start, and too few to be sure of. And compare shares, since a big source will always keep more people in total than a small one.
Where to find it
Your project's Health tab shows retention by source, join quality and the onboarding funnel for the whole server. On the paid plan, each campaign's own page shows how its people did. Read your numbers.
